Sim City Plugin Compress

try to catch up on some 'face after the shame of the previous post. Here is my second attempt to bend the sorcerer of Hojy Takahashi, whose diagrams are on number 109 of Tanteidan magazine.

I used a normal A4 sheet, which has proved totally unsuited to the model (paper is too thick). But certainly not giving up so little (translated that means I finished the paper for origami), and I compensated for the better wetting the paper when necessary to keep the folds.
All in all, the result is not too bad, but I'll leave you to judge.

Sorcerer Nobody is perfect - Part 1

In a fit of honesty and self-criticism typical Christmas, I said to share with the world only because the models that I can bend well? We also show the shame, the rubbish, the stuff that looks like a crumpled piece of paper.
not have thought that all models are able to bend me perfectly on the first try is not it?

Let's start with what is supposed to be a jellyfish (diagrams from the usual site of the Asociación Española de papiroflexia):

Completely unwatchable, I confess.
But it gets worse. I also tried his hand in the bending of the mask of Guy Fawkes, straight from "V for Vendetta." Beautiful model Brian Chan (this guy is a genius), the diagrams I found them here .

Before showing my shame, Gurd as it should be the model over and bent the way God intended:

me down a tear just looking at it, sniff ...
straconvinto Although the guy has cheated: his mouth to make the cut sheet! Diagrams on the mouth is practically nonexistent. Okay okay, mine is all envy, I'll stop now. And now my

Most Popular Winning Pick 3 Lottery Numbers

The Surrogates (Surrogates)

In a not too remote future, human beings live their lives interacting through surrogate robots, remotely controlled from the comfort of sitting in an armchair in her apartment.
That's right, people will not leave the house anymore, but is confined to "remote control" robots in order to avoid any risk of injury or fatality in general.
inevitable presence of rebels who reject these robotic surrogates, considering that man was created to live life directly with their senses.
This film has received a somewhat 'tiepidina by critics and audiences. Reception perhaps a little unfair, considering the average production ivello SF today.
I found it enjoyable, pleasant viewing slides and never get bored. The only defect is that of foreseeability. The plot runs on classic tracks that the viewer has come to expect from a film of this genre.
Even the basic idea is not entirely original, that of the remote-controlled artificial bodies already used it 20 years ago Masamune Shirow in his comic Ghost in the shell (which is taken from the eponymous film by Mamoru Oshii).
In conclusion, a film that entertains but not amazed.

Tower of Babylon - Ted Chiang

More about Storie della tua vita 's the story of a miner who climbs the tower of Babylon to help open a hole in the sky.
I avoid commenting on the biblical references, which are definitely not my forte, pausing instead on describing the journey of the miner, the interminable climb the tower, which will require a 4 month period.
During the climb, many are the wonders of which he was a witness, and all consistent with what was probably the worldview of the time. To understand, the tower is high enough to overcome the moon, the sun and stars. In the past, has even happened that a star (as big as the open arms of a man) and went to attack the tower, leaving an indelible scar on its surface. This
so it may seem absurd, but in reality, this stylistic choice makes it possible to create a sort of complicity between author reader, the reader accepts tacitly the irrationality of what is described, and in return the author offers a tale intellectually and emotionally stimulating.
Something like that happened I was reading the beautiful story The Library of Babel by Borges. Chiang here might not be the height of Borges, but his story is still really enjoyable, and worthy of the prize that the nebula has been assigned.

Does Purple Shag Band Mean

Farfalle with salmon

This is not one of my favorite recipes. There is a cream. I do not like to use the cream in the kitchen. It 's a bit like cheating. But this sauce at home like a lot, so sometimes I have to prepare it:-P

Ingredients (for 3 / 4 persons)
    50g smoked salmon
  • 250ml cream
  • paprika
  • nutmeg
  • vodka

Preparation Cut the salmon into small pieces and brown in oil . Or butter if you prefer. The original recipe does not have it, but I like to add a little 'of the fried leek.
At this point you should blend with a little vodka, but I'm teetotal. The vodka in the house I do not have anything, so do not put the. Case Study resolved. :-P
Add cream and heat up to medium heat. Season with paprika and nutmeg. Cook few minutes, add salt (because the eye is already tasty salmon for her).
Season the butterflies with the sauce, adding if you need a little 'of their cooking water.

Pirate Ship Terminology Diagram

Master Yoda

After a few attempts with standard A4 paper, I have finally ventured into the folder with origami paper of dwarf preferred by fans of Star Wars, Master Yoda
:-) Okay, I confess that the accursed hand I came very well, but I assure you bend those three tiny little fingers is not easy!
The model is very nice, not too difficult. Only that the hand and the final part where you have to shape the coat are a little 'complicated.
I really like the face, which resembles very much that of the figure of trlogia Lucas. The model is

How Preparation H Suppositories Work

The Sea That Thinks

This film is the biggest saw mind when I came across a very long time now. This is not necessarily a bad thing.

There is no real plot. The film shows the writer of the film while writing the script of the film itself . Ok, I grant you 5 minutes for reflection.
...

tic ...

tac ...
Done? Well.
Your conclusion probably will have been "How the hell can such a thing?"
In practice, you see a guy (Bart) is writing to the computer. What is writing? Stuff like "Bart goes through the tea", and a moment later, while sipping a cup of this drink, that's the risk of choking. Recursion
cinemtografica:-D
It's not that I was talking nonsense about mental masturbations.

The film is a succession of Escher optical illusions, sudden changes point of view, both optical and narrative. You see a scene, and shortly after he discovers that in fact the scene was in a TV screen, which in turn is part of a picture, and so forth until the audience is completely confused.

For the viewer, the film is a continuous trudge to search for points of reference on which to build an understanding of the plot. Impossible task, given that the purpose of the film is just to systematically destroy these benchmarks.

And to make matters worse, throughout the film there is a voiceover (which actually comes from a recorder that protaginista are using) to philosophize about what is real and what is not, on the thought and ' I .

conclude by telling a scene. In the movie there is a female character, Marga (which actually feels Solola vocals). In a sequence is a closeup of a post-it on which is written " The viewer thinks: Marga = Lois." My initial reaction was "a moment, I never thought anything like that." Moment of reflection. Then: "You bastard, 'he cheated."

Can You Use Conditioner To Masterbate With

Story Of Your Life - Ted Chiang

More about Storie della tua vita This story is a little gem.
E 'a succession of paragraphs in which you recount episodes from the life of the protagonist as a parent and others which tells its efforts as an expert in linguistics to translate the language of an alien race in a situation of first contact.
Initially this seems to be purely a stylistic choice, but soon realizes that it is instead an integral part of the story. The very fact
themes reminiscent of those Babel-17 by Samuel Delany: The effects of language on the human mind and its ability to perceive the world. The way in which the author plays with the narrative structure resembles Delany.
Also notable is the opposite level of empathy that the two types of paragraphs forward. While those dedicated to the aliens are rigorous, ascetic, those dedicated to the daughter of the protagonist are very human, emotional, often moving.
If, like me, have always considered the magic of Star Terk Universal Translator as one of the biggest nonsense ever seen in science fiction field, then just read this story.

What Does It Mean To Have A Flat Foot

Fusilli with zucchini and shrimp

Here is the recipe for zucchini pasta and shrimp in my own way. Recipe developed after years of experimentation on human subjects:-D

Ingredients (3 / 4 persons):
  • 1 / 2 leek
  • 300g prawns
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 / 2 cup milk
  • 1 zucchini
  • 350g fusilli
  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon zest

Preparation Slice the leek and fry in 2 tablespoons of oil. Add the zucchini, cut into half rings. Cook for few minutes. Add the peeled shrimp, cook for a while. Season with salt and pepper and remove from heat.
In a bowl mix the egg yolks with milk, salt, pepper and lemon zest.
Cook pasta, drain (but not too much) and let it jump into the frying pan of shrimp. Remove from heat, add the milk mixture and eggs and mix well. The egg should be creamy, like a carbonara.

Enjoy :-)

How Bad Are Whippets?

The train of the gods - China Mieville

More about Il treno degli dei was for some who do not appreciate so much a novel. Where to "enjoy" I mean find myself sipping the pages, do not force me to read more than one chapter a day because I do not want the book to end.

The novel's more political Mieville. It has everything: a social movement, clandestine newspapers (the legendary Runagate Rampant ), a railway workers in revolt that eventually ownership of the train so they are building the tracks. Rails will continue to build, destroy them immediately after the passage of the stolen train, on a trip / desperate escape leads them to become legend, a symbol of social struggle against the oppressive government of the city-state of New Crobuzon.

Significant chapters of the stain cacotopica, an area subject to a fracture of the fact that warps and distorts everything that enters it. It is no coincidence that I used the word area, as did the brothers in their Strugatski Picnic on the roadside, a novel which is probably inspired by the idea of \u200b\u200bthe spot.
And in the background to these events, the world of Bas-lag. How to describe the universe created by Mieville? Impossible, because when you think you've seen it all now, turn the page and Mieville slams you in the face of another idea, an invention of an embarrassing originality that leaves you speechless. Men cactus, sentient machines, men as punishment for some crime are redone in the most perverse and unhealthy because of Thaumaturgy, villages built on the backs of giant tortoises, monks whose devotion has led them to forget their gender. All cleverly mixed with more familiar elements, taken from our reality quitidiana: factories, trains, accountants, corporations moved by the spirit of capitalism, in a dark-toned mix steampunk. The sites in New Crobuzon seem to have the names of the districts of London distorted by a perverse fantasy. Howl Barrow, Badside, Glasshouse, Dog Fenn, Smog Bend, Cockscom Bridge, Brock Marsh. The effect is nothing short of alienating the most positive sense of the term, as able to create that "sense of wonder" that every player like that look fantastic. The term weird fiction could not be more appropriate.

Everything is described with elaborate style, baroque, yet surprisingly direct, vivid and effective. Even better than he showed in Mieville Perdido Street Station (no mean feat).

My latest creation on paper, complete with a fine rat tail, protruding auricles and evil eyes. Obtained from a single sheet of paper, as a true tradition :-)
